Where is the battery located in the Polder?
The battery is hidden in the frame, under a uniquely designed cover and locked with a physical key. There is an option for a large 540 Wh or a smaller 360 Wh battery. In the case of the latter, there is still some space left in the battery trunk of the frame to store some extra items such as a lock, telephone, and depending on the season sunscreen or woolly gloves.
How can I ensure that the Polder won’t be stolen?
To start with, there is an option for a standard ABUS frame lock. When you order this at checkout, it will be operated with the same key as the battery trunk. In addition, it is advisable to secure the bicycle with a chain or cable to a solid object.
An extra layer of protection can be added with your tracker of choice (Air-Tag, Smart-Tag, or Tile), which can be hidden in a specially designed compartment.
The motor can only be switched on by the user, using an encrypted automatic Bluetooth connection or physically with a button on the battery (which is stored in the locked battery compartment).
What is the range on the battery of the Polder?
With the 360 Wh battery, the average effective range is about 80 km, and with the 540 Wh battery about 120 km. How much exactly depends on how much effort you put in as well as rider weight, tire pressure, weather conditions, and how hilly the terrain is.
Can a child seat be placed on the front or back of the Polder?
Yes, you can mount a child seat on the rear of the bike such as the Thule Yepp. In some cases, you might need an additional adapter supplied by the manufacturer of the bike seat. At this moment it is not possible to mount a seat on the front of the bike.
In any case, always check the manufacturer’s specifications before mounting any accessories to the Polder.
Can I charge my phone on the Polder?
The battery of the Polder can be used as a power bank. You can charge your phone with your own charging cable. You can easily attach your phone to the handlebars by means of the installed ‘SP Connect’ interface. Various phone cases are available on the SP Connect website.
What is the assistance limit?
The support of the bike is made to feel as natural as possible. It gradually stops assisting at 25 kmp/h. This is the current maximum allowed speed for bicycles (on the bike lane) with pedal assistance.
Which accessories fit the Polder?
We have tried to make the Polder as modular as possible without losing our beautiful integrated features/functions. We are continuously developing new accessories ourselves. In the future, you can expect a front rack from us. If you feel like adding your own you can of course. For example, you can think of a suspension seat post, a folding lock, or a water bottle on the seat tube or on the frame. When in doubt, please let us know. We are curious about your ideas!
Is there a tracker or GPS available on the Polder?
At the moment we do not offer our own GPS tracker for the Polder. Our experience is that this solution is expensive and does not always work as well as it should. We have opted to make a special provision in the frame for an Apple Air Tag, Samsung Smart Tag, or Tile Mate, which are very effective and are inexpensive too.
How much does the Polder weigh?
Excluding battery (1950 gr [360Wh] or 2400 gr [540Wh] but including pedals, the bike weighs about 17.5 kg. This is quite light for an e-bike making it easy to handle. However, we don’t focus so much on weight because it’s important that the bike feels solid and, above all, rides like a dream.
